Chemist
CLASSIFICATION: Non Exempt
POSITION TYPE: Full-time/Monday – Friday
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for assisting with research projects, maintaining laboratory reagents, and QC tests for production (as required). It is responsible for incoming raw material quality control and record keeping. This role will require a development of expertise in product-in-use testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with EHS requirements
- Responsible for quality control testing of incoming raw materials as directed
- Responsible for maintaining batch stability testing
- Provide back-up coverage for QC technician
- Formulate work that leads to new product development, assisting both the technical director and operations manager
- Conduct product-in-use work that validates quality and supporting new product development, product improvement, and process improvement
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, problems, and legal requirements
- Knowledge of computers and production software
- Knowledge of chemical handling and safety requirements
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
- Maintain good housekeeping of the assigned areas
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required
- Two+ years lab experience preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is routinely required to: sit, walk, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and use hands to; finger, handle, and feel. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements include: close visions, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position also requires the ability to work under deadlines.
